Few things make us happier than spending our weekends doing exactly what we want to do. Whether you’re looking for a more laid-back vibe or are ready to stay out all night, New York City has it all! Not sure what to do this weekend? We have you covered.
EAT IT UP
TASTE EVERY TYPE OF FOOD AT SMORGASBURG (7/14 and 7/15)
Get excited to eat the weekend away at Smorgasburg! Taking place in Williamsburg on Saturdays and Prospect Park on Sundays, you’ll never get bored of the food vendors. From elaborate entrees to delectable desserts, no one leaves with an empty stomach.
ESCAPE THE HEAT WITH SNOWDAYS AT KELLOGG’S CAFÉ (7/14 and 7/15)
At this point, we’ll do pretty much anything to escape the heat for a little while. At the top of our list is heading over to Kellogg’s Café in Union Square to get a taste of Snowdays. The frozen-dessert spot is partnering with the cereal brand to cool you off. Snowdays has light and fluffy ice cream with the consistency of snow. Every Saturday and Sunday this month, you can indulge in the ice cream and customize it with toppings like Kellogg’s cereals, dark chocolate chips, blueberries, matcha brownies, Pop-Tart crumbles, and more. Now that’s how you beat the heat!
National Ice Cream Day is almost here, and what better way to celebrate than with the sweet treat itself? Grand Bazaar NYC is hosting their 3rd annual NYC Summer Ice Cream Blizzard at their market on the Upper West Side. You can expect ice cream vendors, including Sam’s Fried Ice Cream, 2 Dough Boyz, Minus Celsius Ice Cream, Bona Bona Ice Cream, and more! You’re sure to find a scoop that you absolutely love.
Who says your dog doesn’t want to celebrate National Ice Cream Day, too?! Thanks to Wag!, the on-demand pet walking and boarding app, you can get pet-safe ice cream on Sunday. Stop by the Central Park Dog Park from 2 to 6 p.m. to get your furry best friend a frozen treat.
DRINK IT UP
The Sunday scaries aren’t a thing at Ophelia! Through the summer, Sundays at Ophelia will take place from 12 to 5 p.m. on the 26th floor of the Beekman Tower. You can expect a new cocktail menu featuring drinks like the Watermelon Refresher and Ophelia’s Mimosa, a new food menu that includes lobster, corn fritters, and short-rib Benedict, and live music from Argentinian singer Sol Liebeskind. Oh, and did we mention that this all takes place on the rooftop? Yeah, it just got 10 times better. Have fun!
DO IT UP
Think of Bastille Day as the Fourth of July of France. This Saturday, the French will be celebrating the holiday that came to be in 1789 when Parisians began to overthrow King Louis XVI and his wife, Queen Marie Antoinette. Stop by Bistro Pierre Lapin, a new French-inspired bistro in the West Village, to have escargot with a sunny-side-up egg, tartine de foi gras au beurre, and more. Everyone who dines at the bistro will receive a complimentary glass of Veuve Clicquot Champagne. Now that’s how you celebrate!
BREAK OUT YOUR DANCE MOVES AT MIDSUMMER NIGHT SWING (until 7/14)
Midsummer Night Swing is in full effect at Lincoln Center! Now until July 14, you can experience different types of music depending on the night you go. This Friday, get ready to do classic swing dance while listening to Naomi & Her Handsome Devils. Then on Saturday, head on back to see Heybale and dance honky-tonk and western swing style. Don’t worry, there are dance instructors on-site if your swing dancing isn’t fantastic. Tickets are available here.
SHOP IT UP
CONSORTIUM is on a 12-city tour, and next up on the list is NYC! It gives you a shopping experience like no other, featuring special pieces that you’ll keep in your wardrobe for years to come. Stop by their location in Soho at 60 Grand Street until September 1 to shop incredible products and brands, including weekenders and leather goods from Saintly, watches from Martenero, and fragrances from Olfactory. Enjoy!
